A custom TV remote you build yourself

The built-in layouts each suit a different way of watching: Thumb keeps navigation and volume in reach of the hand holding the phone, Swipe is one large trackpad, Apple TV style has a big swipe surface and round keys, Full remote is for two hands, Channels has numbers and a channel rail for live TV, Essentials tucks a small remote into one corner, and Large has big, high-contrast keys for the dark.

The built-in layouts follow the hand you hold the phone in. Switch layouts from the remote at any time.

Start from a blank remote or a copy of any design, then add, move, resize and remove keys on the grid. The editor's Add sheet lets you search every key by name.

• Any TV key, a d-pad, a trackpad with its own sensitivity, volume and channel keys.
• A key that opens an app on the TV.
• A key that starts a particular film or series in the app it streams on.
• A key for one of your lists.
• Your accent colour, key shapes, and labels as icons, text or both.

From a blank grid to a remote that fits your hand.

   Open Layouts

   On the remote, open Layouts and tap Create new layout.

   Start blank or from a copy

   Pick a blank layout, a built-in design, one of your own, or a layout someone shared with you.

   Add and arrange keys

   Add keys, drag them where you want them and resize them. Tap Done when it feels right.

   Share it if you like

   Keep it to yourself, or share it with your household or the people you choose.

On a title's page in Rimokon, tap + beside the service it streams on. Rimokon adds a key for it to your layout and opens the editor, so you can put it where you want. Pressing it opens that title in the right app on the TV.

A layout is yours until you share it. Choose Only me, My household or Chosen people. Others can use it, and only you can change it; anyone who wants to tweak it makes their own copy.

If you stop sharing a layout someone is using, their remote doesn't change: they keep a copy of their own.
